AIFA Welcomes MIT Students Participating in the MISTI Armenia Internship Program

Afeyan Initiatives for Armenia (AIFA) was delighted to welcome MIT students to its office in Yerevan. The students recently arrived in Armenia to participate in the MISTI Armenia internship program, supported by the Afeyan Foundation. They were greeted by Irina Seylanyan, Executive Director of AIFA.

MISTI Armenia connects MIT students with fully funded internship and research opportunities at leading companies, universities, and research institutions in Armenia. Internships typically take place during the summer and last 8–12 weeks.

“The MISTI program is supported by the Afeyan Foundation to encourage students to come to Armenia and share their experiences. What we aim to do is promote institutional change through diversified projects with innovative approaches in health, science, education, and individual empowerment,” said Irina Seylanyan.

This year’s participants represent a wide range of academic disciplines, including chemistry, mathematics, political science, molecular biology, and computer science․

The MISTI Armenia program strengthens connections between MIT and Armenian institutions, fostering knowledge exchange, collaboration, and mutual learning. Through these partnerships, Armenian organizations engage with talented MIT students while contributing their expertise and creating opportunities for long-term institutional collaboration.
